3 hours

This workshop, targeted towards elementary school teachers and staff, will provide a short introduction to 2SLGBTQIPA+ identity and communities.

Participants will learn about school-based violence and how homophobia, heterosexism, transphobia and cissexism impact students in elementary school.

Guided by material from the Ministry of Education, Culture & Employment, participants will learn about meaningful support 2SLGBTQIPA+ kids in school. Participants will also discuss how to incorporate 2SLGBTQIPA+ topics into their curriculum.

This workshop, targeted towards secondary school teachers and staff, will provide an extensive introduction to 2SLGBTQIPA+ identity and communities.

This workshop will provide participants with an introduction to 2SLGBTQIPA+ identity and communities in order to build a foundation to understand anti-2SLGBTQIPA+ workplace violence.

Participants will also discuss how they can meaningfully support their 2SLGBTQIPA+ colleagues and employees.

supporting 2slgbtqipa+ folks in healthcare

3 hours

This workshop, designed for healthcare providers and professionals, provides a comprehensive introduction to 2SLGBTQIPA+ identity and to the difference between gender and sex.

Participants will discuss the importance of inclusive language within healthcare settings, including in charting, before moving into a discussion about best practices in healthcare.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore different scenarios and identify areas for future learning.

 

2slgbtqipa+ inclusive business practices

3 hours

This workshop will provide participants with an introduction to 2SLGBTQIPA+ identity and communities in order to build a foundation to understand barriers that customers or clients might face when purchasing their services or products.

Participants will also discuss how their business can participate meaningfully in Pride and in respectfully celebrating the 2SLGBTQIPA+ community.

2SLGBTQIPA+ INCLUsive hospitality

2 hours

This workshop will provide participants with an introduction to 2SLGBTQIPA+ identity and communities.

This will offer a strong foundation for participants working in tourism, restaurants and hospitality to learn about how to provide a positive experience to 2SLGBTQIPA+ customers and staff.

 

2slgbtqipa+ inclusive social work

3 hours

This workshop, designed for community-based social workers, provides a comprehensive introduction to 2SLGBTQIPA+ identity and to the difference between gender and sex.

Participants will discuss the importance of inclusive language within social work settings, including in note taking, before moving into a discussion about best practices in social work.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore different scenarios and identify areas for future learning.

2slgbtqipa+ inclusive sports & recreation

2 hours

This workshop, designed for those who work or volunteer in sports and recreation, will provide a very short introduction to LGBTQIPA+ identity and communities in order to provide a foundation to barriers that LGBTQIPA+ people might experience when trying to participate in sports and recreation.

Participants will spend time learning about homophobia and transphobia in sport, and will talk through possible scenarios that they might encounter when working with LGBTQIPA+ communities in different sporting spaces.
